Although some have questioned the logic of talking to Josh McCown at all for a head coaching job, the Texans seemingly have advanced the inexperienced McCown to a finalist as they are giving him a second interview, according to the NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
The Texans interviewed McCown for the job last week, and the 42-year-old Texas native is back in Houston on Friday for another round of interviews. So far, the Texans have interviewed six candidates: McCown, former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores, Eagles defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, Chargers offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O'Connell and former NFL receiver Hines Ward.
