Texans' general manager interviews begin in-house

The Texans began interviews today for their vacant general manager’s job with Jimmy Raye III, the team’s vice president of football operations/assistant general manager.

Raye spent 17 years with San Diego and four with Indianapolis before former general manager Rick Smith hired him last year.

Buffalo vice president of player personnel Brian Gaine arrives in Houston today and will interview Tuesday.

Smith hired Gaine in 2014 – Bill O’Brien’s first season as coach – to run the pro personnel department and promoted him to director of player personnel, a position he kept until leaving for Buffalo after the 2016 season.
