Texans veteran free-agent wide receiver Nate Washington is visiting the New England Patriots on Monday, according to an NFL source not authorized to speak publicly.
Washington's one-year, $1.005 million contract has expired.
Washington caught 47 passes for 658 yards and four touchdowns last season.
The Texans haven't closed the door on his return, expressing some interest this offseason in potentially bringing him back.
Washington, 32, has caught 458 career passes for 6,954 yards and 44 touchdowns in 11 NFL seasons.
Washington also has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans.
Washington's leadership was instrumental in the locker room, but he did deal with some injuries and dropped passes last season.
