The Texans are expected to start veteran lineman Chris Clark at right tackle against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, according to league sources not authorized to speak publicly.
Roderick Johnson has been dealing with a neck stinger suffered against the Indianapolis Colts. And first-round draft pick Tytus Howard, the starting right tackle before he got hurt, remains sidelined with a partially torn medial collateral ligament.
Clark, 34, started 13 games last season for the Carolina Panthers.
He was placed on injured reserve with the New Orleans Saints and reached an injury settlement.
The Texans signed Clark when former starting right offensive tackle Seantrel Henderson was placed on the non-football injury list.
