After spending the last three seasons as one of the worst football teams in the NFL, the Texans are trying to establish a strong nucleus of leaders as the franchise looks to build a winning culture in Houston.

It started in the offseason when the Texans made DeMeco Ryans—who played linebacker in Houston from 2006 to 2011 before beginning his coaching career with the San Francisco 49ers in 2017—the sixth head coach in franchise history.
