The Texans officially ruled out injured Pro Bowl alternate offensive tackle Duane Brown for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears.
Brown is on the active roster, but is still recovering from undergoing quadriceps tendon surgery at the end of last season. Chris Clark will start at left tackle in his place.
Meanwhile, the Texans upgraded defensive end J.J. Watt to full participation in practice Friday. Watt is slated to start Sunday against Chicago after undergoing back surgery in late July.
The Texans also upgraded rookie wide receiver Will Fuller to full participation Friday. Fuller had been limited with a hamstring injury.
