When the Texans finished their mandatory minicamp in June, that didn't conclude their offseason work for the summer.
The Texans will hold informal voluntary throwing sessions organized by players with quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Second-year wide receiver Vyncint Smith said he's looking forward to getting in some extra work with the Pro Bowl alternate quarterback in Los Angeles.
"Oh yeah, we got together last summer," Smith said. "We get together this summer to throw, build chemistry in a new environment or different environment with Deshaun and just have fun."
An undrafted free agent from Division II Limestone College who beat the odds to make the 53-man roster last year Smith was called into action late in the season when veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas tore his Achilles against the Philadelphia Eagles.
