Texans defensive tackle suspended for substance abuse violation

The Houston Texans' defensive line is among the most fearsome units in the NFL, headlined by a pair of star edge rushers in Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter. Houston's pass rush took a hit Monday, however, with the suspension of defensive tackle Mario Edwards Jr.

Edwards will serve a four-game suspension without pay after violating the NFL's substances of abuse policy. The 10-year veteran will be eligible to return to the field in mid-November for Week 11's tilt at the Dallas Cowboys, though in the interim, the Texans now lose a pass rusher with two sacks, five QB hits and two tackles for loss already on his season ledger.
