Texans defensive end Joel Heath now a starter

The Texans think highly enough of defensive end Joel Heath that they have moved him into the starting lineup.

Heath is now listed as the starter at right defensive end ahead of Christian Covington, lining up opposite of three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt.

Heath missed the majority of the preseason with a hamstring injury suffered during the offseason. He was activated from the non-football injury list prior to the third preseason game against the New Orleans Saints.

A 6-5, 300-pound former undrafted free agent from Michigan State, Heath impressed the coaching staff with his long arms and athleticism and made the 53-man roster last year.
