About an hour after Texans general manager Rick Smith called the holdout of Texans star receiver DeAndre Hopkins "counterintuitive," Hopkins released a statement announcing he would be returning to training camp.
On Sunday afternoon, after the Texans finished the first day of training camp, ESPN reporter Tania Ganguli tweeted this message from Hopkins:
"I too am disappointed that the Texans' organization has elected not to enter into contract negotiations to secure my future as a Texan. I have expressed my sincere position regarding my contract status and with sound mind have expressed my (stance) to the Texans' organization.
