The Texans have released veteran wide receiver Sammie Coates, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
Coates had indicated on social media that he was saying goodbye to Houston.

Coates is a special teams contributor who caught one pass for 12 yards for the Texans. He has previous stints with the Browns and Steelers and 29 career receptions.
