The Texans cut offensive lineman Jeff Adams from the active roster, signing tight end RaShaun Allen to the practice squad.
Adams was signed recently when offensive tackle Derek Newton was placed on injured reserve with a pair of torn patellar tendons. Adams started two games last season for the Texans.
Adams was with the Texans during the offseason and preseason after signing a one-year, $600,000 exclusive-rights free agent tender.
The 6-7, 305-pounder from Columbia has previous stints with the Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Tennessee Titans and Cincinnati Bengals
Allen is a former Southern University player who's played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks.
