Texans starting cornerback Kevin Johnson was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion suffered Sunday against the New England Patriots.
This marks Johnson's second concussion of the season, raising concerns about his durability.
He can be designated for return, but must miss at least eight weeks.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien said Monday that the team will proceed cautiously with Johnson, who suffered another concussion during the preseason against the San Francisco 49ers and was cleared under the NFL concussion protocol Friday.
