NFL owners approved a major change to the league's kickoff rules in March. And with Week 1 starting Thursday night, one Houston Texans coach believes the rule changes will help one side of the ball in particular.
Texas special teams coordinator Frank Ross discussed the assumed impact of the NFL's new "Dynamic Kickoff" when meeting with the media at NRG Stadium on Thursday. Beginning this season, kicking teams will now place their players on the opposing 40-yard line, just five yards from nine of 11 members of the return team. The changes don't end there.
