Texans coach Bill O’Brien appeared on the NFL draft broadcast with his sons, Jack and Michael.
His oldest, Jack, had a sign that said “Thank you, Frontline heroes.”
Jack, 17, suffers from a neurological disorder called lissencephaly and has had to deal with seizures, eyesight problems and cognitive development issues.
Michael is 14.
O’Brien generally tries to keep his family out of the public eye so Friday’s broadcast was a special event.
Assistant coach Mike Devlin addressed O’Brien’s family at a Special Olympics function last year.
"For me, since I've been here, I've seen coach O'Brien, his family and his sons, Jack and Michael, what they go through with a special-needs child, I think it's unbelievable," Devlin said.
