HOUSTON -- There is a shared stake between Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien and the players he coaches, that has contributed to how they respond to him.
It was during a meeting five weeks ago when he stood before them and admitted his own mistake -- the mistake he made in benching quarterback Brian Hoyer too soon.
"I think I earned even more respect for him," receiver Cecil Shorts II said. "He owned up to a mistake that he thought he made. You don't see that a lot from coaches, especially, you don't see coaches blaming themselves or saying anything of that nature.
