The Texans were awarded wide receiver Montay Crockett off waivers from the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Crockett, 24, played collegiately at Georgia Southern.
He went undrafted and has a previous stint with the Green Bay Packers. Crockett was cut by the Jaguars this month.
He becomes the first transaction executed by new Texans general manager Brian Gaine.
Crockett caught 35 passes in college for 535 yards and three touchdowns. He is listed at 6-0, 184 pounds and is from Rock Hill, South Carolina.
