Veteran defensive lineman Christian Covington had a breakthrough season as a pass rusher this season for the AFC South champion Texans.
Covington recorded a career-high 3 1/2 sacks in a dozen games with two starts.
Now that he's a pending unrestricted free agent, the former Rice standout wants to remain in Houston. The Vancouver, British Columbia native has been here since he finished his high school days in Canada, maturing into an All-Conference USA selection for the Owls and a valuable rotational lineman for the Texans.
"I have been in Houston for eight years, I'd love to be back," Covington said.
