Texans center Greg Mancz readying for first NFL start

This shapes up as a huge week for Texans center Greg Mancz.

Undrafted a year ago out of Toledo, Mancz made the Texans' roster and played in three games before undergoing knee surgery and being placed on injured reserve.

Mancz is the replacement for rookie center Nick Martin, who's out for the season with a high-ankle sprain that required surgery. He'll start his first NFL game Sunday against the Chicago Bears.

"It's just a different focus," Mancz said. "I'm focusing on what the job is at hand."

Now, it's Mancz's job to block talented Bears nose tackle Eddie Goldman, make line calls and pick up blitzing linebackers.
