The Texans brought in New York Jets safety Antonio Allen for a visit today.
Allen, 27, spent last season on injured reserve after suffering a torn Achilles tendon the first week of training camp last year.
Allen, 6-2, 210, was a seventh-round pick in 2012 from South Carolina. He started 17 games in 2013 and 2014.
The Texans are looking for another safety. They're checking out free agents as well as possible draft choices.
They would like to re-sign Quintin Demps, who started next to Andre Hal over the last nine games when they went 7-2.
