When Texans outside linebacker Brennan Scarlett signed a one-year, $3.75 million extension that included $1.875 million guaranteed, it was an emotional moment for the former undrafted free agent.
For the Stanford graduate to climb from being an undrafted rookie four years ago to having some job security as the starting outside linebacker with unsigned franchise player Jadeveon Clowney the subject of trade discussions, it's significant for Scarlett.
"Really excited, a lot of emotions; it’s been a long journey up to this point," said Scarlett, who is due a $2.025 million base salary this year. "I did not cry, but a lot of emotions.
