In flashes at the line of scrimmage last season, Texans defensive lineman Brandon Dunn demonstrated his quickness and power.
After being signed off of the Chicago Bears' practice squad to the Texans' active roster in October, Dunn played in 11 games and had modest production with seven tackles. However, the 6-foot-2, 300-pounder from Louisville showed potential and is now in contention for an increased role for a team that's hurting at the defensive end position.
Dunn is competing for playing time at right defensive end, which was vacated when Jared Crick signed a two-year, $4 million contract with the Denver Broncos.
