When the Texans made their final major roster cuts, defensive tackle Brandon Dunn was one of the final three players released.
It was a tough decision because Dunn has displayed steady improvement and is difficult to block, but the Texans kept undrafted rookie defensive end Joel Heath on the active roster instead of him.
One day later, the Texans signed Dunn to their practice squad after he declined several competing offers to join other teams' practice squads.
"I'm just glad to be in the league," Dunn said. "It was a tough draw, but I'm here and getting better every day.
