PHOENIX – No player has gotten more attention at the NFL meetings this week than tight end Rob Gronkowski, who announced his retirement from the New England Patriots on Sunday.
During Bill O’Brien’s last two seasons (2010-11) as an assistant coach with New England, he watched Gronkowski mature from a second-round pick coming off back surgery in college to one of the most feared weapons in the NFL.
When Gronkowski announced his retirement on Instagram after nine seasons with the Patriots, he was showered with praise for being perhaps the greatest at his position in NFL history.
