In the wake of the surprising firing of general manager Brian Gaine last Friday, Texans coach Bill O'Brien said it was a result of a exhaustive evaluation of the entire organization from chief operating officer Cal McNair.
"That's a tough decision for Cal to make," O'Brien said Tuesday following a minicamp practice. "He did a thorough evaluation of the football operation and that included me. He was very clear with me on what we needed to do to grow as an organization. ..
"He's a humble person, very good at articulating what he wants, his vision, the improvements he thinks needs to be made relative to the whole building.
