With Oakland quarterback Derek Carr suffering a fractured fibula, Matt McGloin replaces him for the last game at Denver and in the playoffs.
McGloin, an undrafted free agent, was 1-5 as a rookie in 2013. His only victory came at NRG Stadium, where he threw three touchdown passes against the Texans.
There's a chance the Texans can get a rematch with McGloin in the wild card round of the playoffs. If the Raiders lose at Denver, and Kansas City wins at San Diego, Oakland is coming to NRG Stadium.
Bill O'Brien knows McGloin well. In 2012, his first season at Penn State, O'Brien went 8-4.
