The Texans are cutting veteran linebacker Sio Moore, according to a league source not authorized to speak publicly.
The Texans began informing players about their status one day prior to a mandatory NFL roster cutdown to a 53-player limit.
The NFL changed the rules this year. In the past, the league had teams reach a limit of 75 players following the third preseason game. Now, it's straight down to 53 players from the current roster limit of 90 players.
A former Oakland Raiders third-round draft pick from Connecticut, Moore has a hamstring injury that's affected him throughout training camp, preventing him from earning a spot.
