As a running back, Texans veteran Lamar Miller absorbs a lot of punishment throughout the season.
And Miller was sidelined for one game, an overtime win over the Dallas Cowboys, due to a chest injury.
Running backs coach Danny Barrett attributed the decision by coach Bill O'Brien to rest Miller as a big factor in how he has had staying power this season. Miller is coming off his best game, gaining 162 yards, including a 97-yard touchdown run, during a win over the Tennessee Titans.
For the season, Miller has rushed for 773 yards and three touchdowns.
