Texans' Andre Hal a game-time decision with illness

Texans starting free safety Andre Hal's status was characterized as a game-time decision by coach Bill O'Brien on Friday.

Hal was sidelined during practice all week with an illness. Hal is listed as questionable on the injury report.

"That will be a game-time decision," O'Brien said. "I definitely think he's playing better, but we'll have to decide that Sunday morning."

Meanwhile, the Texans officially ruled out outside linebacker John Simon (chest), kick returner Tyler Ervin (ribs) and wide receiver Jaelen Strong (sprained ankle).

Running back Alfred Blue (calf), middle linebacker Brian Cushing (back) and defensive end Jadeveon Clowney (elbow, wrist) are listed as questionable.
