HOUSTON -- The Houston Texans have activated defensive end J.J. Watt (back) and left tackle Duane Brown (quadriceps) from the physically unable to perform list, meaning they are eligible to play in the Sept. 11 season opener against the Bears.
Head coach Bill O'Brien said Friday that it "looks decent" that Watt could return for Week 1. On Friday, O'Brien said he did not have an update on Brown.
If the Texans had put either on the regular season physically unable to perform list, they would have had to miss at least six weeks of practice before being able to return to the field.
