Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Matthew Golden hopes to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft beginning Thursday. Golden had a supportive advocate during his pre-draft visit with the Houston Texans in March.
Golden, who transferred to Texas for the 2024 season after two years at Houston, had his meeting with the Texans interrupted by former college teammate and current Texans wide receiver Tank Dell. Golden didn't seem to mind the interruption. He points to Dell as a leading influence on his football development to date, which peaked with a 58-catch, nine-touchdown season with the Longhorns in 2024.
