Source: Texans to hire 49ers' Bobby Slowik as new OC

The Houston Texans are expected to hire San Francisco 49ers pass-game coordinator Bobby Slowik as their new offensive coordinator, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Slowik, 35, follows new Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans to Houston from the 49ers, where he had been on the staff with Ryans for the past six seasons.

This season was Slowik's first as the 49ers' pass-game coordinator. He has 10 years of experience as an NFL assistant.

He likely will be working with a rookie quarterback in 2023 as the Texans will pick No. 2 overall in the draft and do not have a clear starter heading into next season.
