The Houston Texans made a major investment in the future of football in Houston and the surrounding area during Thursday's annual Season Premiere Event at NRG Stadium.
Houston's ownership group and its partners announced a $1.4 million commitment to fund girl's flag football programs at 25 Houston Independent School District (HISD) schools across the next three years. There are presently 12 states to sanction flag football as a high school varsity sport, per KPRC 2's Aaron Wilson. With help from the Texans, the Lone Star State will likely become the 13th.
The addition of flag football to Texas high school sports is a cause close to the hearts of Houston's brass.
