Saquon Barkley will make a quick trip down I-95 this spring as he moves from the New York Giants to the Philadelphia Eagles. But the two-time Pro Bowler apparently had his eyes set further south at the beginning of free agency earlier this month.
Barkley, who signed a three-year, $37.8 million deal with the Eagles on March 11, said this week his "first interest was Houston" in the lead-up to free agency. Barkely said he chatted about the possibility with fellow former No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud, though ultimately, financial considerations kept Barkley from joining the Houston Texans.
