Injuries held back running back Daniel Lasco of The Woodlands during his senior season at California, but he's still going to earn a shot in the NFL.
The New Orleans Saints selected Lasco (6-1, 205) in the seventh round of Saturday's NFL Draft (237th overall). He accumulated 2,395 all-purpose yards with 15 career starts at Cal, and rushed for 1,115 yards as a junior in Berkeley, Calif. He rushed for a career-high 188 yards against Oregon State in 2014. Hip and ankle injuries limited him as a senior, however.
Lasco, who redshirted his freshman year at Cal in 2011, was the 14-5A district MVP in 2009 and 2010 at The Woodlands High.
