The XFL named Roughnecks quarterback P.J. Walker as its first ever star of the week on Tuesday.
Walker got the XFL in Houston off to a hot start by helping the Roughnecks engineer a 37-17 win over the Los Angeles Wildcats on Saturday at TDECU Stadium.
Walker was a star in Houston's inaugural XFL game, completing 23 of 39 passes and piling up 298 total yards and four touchdowns.
“He’s learning the system, he did some really good things. I was kind of anxious to see him because I had played against him in college,” Roughnecks head coach June Jones said of Walker after the game.
