Rootes named 2016 Business Person of the Year

The Houston Business Journal has named Jamey Rootes, president of the Houston Texans, as its 2016 Business Person of the Year.

Rootes was selected by the editorial team based on his accomplishments as the 2016 chair of the Greater Houston Partnership as well as his role in elevating Houston’s visibility on an international scale.

"In deciding who should be HBJ's first-ever Business Person of the Year, Jamey was a natural choice," said Bob Charlet, publisher of the HBJ. "As the GHP's 2016 chair of the board and as the business leader of one of the NFL's most successful and profitable sports franchises, he has bridged together various civic and business organizations for the betterment of this city.
