Ohio State tight end Nick Vannett held a formal interview with the Texans during the NFL scouting combine.
Vannett is one of the top ranked tight ends in the draft, projected anywhere from the second round to the third round. This isn't regarded as a deep tight end class, though.
Tight end is a position of clear need for the Texans; they benched former starter Garrett Graham last season and didn't get consistent production from C.J. Fiedorowicz and Ryan Griffin.
Vannett has outstanding size at 6-foot-6, 257 pounds with 34 1/4 length arms and 10-inch hands.
