North Carolina defensive tackle Nazair Jones visited the Texans this week, according to a source not authorized to speak publicly.
Jones recorded a career-high 70 tackles and 9 1/2 for losses with 2 1/2 sacks last season.
Jones overcame complex regional pain syndrome in high school, losing 50 pounds in one month during his junior year before returning to play as a senior.
He regained 40 pounds as a redshirt freshman in Chapel Hill.
He's now listed at 6-5, 304 pounds and ran the 40-yard dash in 5.11 seconds at the NFL scouting combine.
As a sophomore, he was a third-team all-conference selection when he registered 40 tackles for losses.
