Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins made a nice gesture late last month as he tossed a football to a child in the stands after a touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. The NFL office took a different stance on the seemingly-innocuous gameday interaction.
Collins was fined $5,000 for the underhand toss in Houston's loss to the Tennessee Titans at NRG Stadium on Nov. 24. Collins noted his surprise at the fine when speaking with the media at NRG Stadium on Thursday, adding he plans to appeal the penalty. The NFL's stringent rulebook makes winning the appeal unlikely.
