When the Texans lost center Ben Jones to the Tennessee Titans via a four-year, $17 million deal, they reacted quickly by signing former Oakland Raiders center Tony Bergstrom to a two-year $5.75 million deal
Bergstrom played offensive tackle at Utah and lined up at center and guard for the Raiders. A 6-5, 315-pounder who ran the 40-yard dash in 5.19 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 32 times out of Utah as a Raiders third-round draft pick, Bergstrom settled in at center last year in Oakland.
That figures to be his primary position with the Texans playing between incumbent left guard Xavier Sua'-Filo and new right guard Jeff Allen.
