After playing 25 seasons in the NFL, Morten Andersen had a lot of people to thank during his acceptance speech into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
He saved a little special praise for Houston Oilers legend Bum Phillips, who coached him in New Orleans.
"I owe Bum Phillips a huge tip of the 10-gallon hat," Andersen said. "He had patience with me when I started my NFL career in New Orleans. And he stuck with me until we got it right."
Phillips, who passed away in 2013, was coaching the Saints in 1982 and in charge when the team drafted Andersen in the fourth round.
