Monday was a hard day for Bill O’Brien.
The Texans have to trim their roster from 90 players to 75 by 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The release process began Monday morning, though, and the head coach explained why it weighed on him.
“These cutdown days are very difficult things because these guys have worked extremely hard,” O’Brien said during his Monday press conference. “They’ve worked obviously on the practice field, but also in places where you don’t really see them. Like the weight room and the meeting room. Here on the weekends. I’m here quite a bit on the weekends.
