Magnolia High School alum and Auburn fullback Spencer Nigh signed a free-agent contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday following the conclusion of the NFL draft.
Nigh, a 6-foot, 267-pound athlete, started nine games at fullback for Auburn last season. He displayed his athleticism at the Auburn Pro Day on March 6, running the 40-yard dash in 4.81 seconds and performing 28 reps on the bench press.
Nigh originally walked on at Auburn, but he earned a scholarship in 2019 heading into his final season. He was the District 19-5A Defensive MVP for Magnolia and coach Sterling Doty as a senior in 2015 from his nose tackle position.
