INDIANAPOLIS -- One of the most imposing wide receiver prospects had a rough path to the NFL scouting combine.
Iowa State wide receiver Hakeem Butler, a Fort Bend Travis graduate, moved to Texas from Baltimore after his mother died of cancer.
The 6-5, 227-pounder caught 60 passes for 1,318 yards and nine touchdowns last season for the Cyclones before declaring early for the draft. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.48 seconds and is the tallest wide receiver with the longest arms (35 ¼) and longest wingspan (83 7/8).
Butler credits his time in Texas for helping him reach this point in his career.
