While Kamari Lassiter is eager to begin his NFL journey, the former Georgia cornerback's SEC roots were on full display as the Houston Texans kicked off their rookie minicamp this week.
Lassiter, a second-round pick who won a pair of national titles with the Bulldogs, met with the Houston media in person for the first time on Friday. In doing so, he learned a fun fact about his new head coach, DeMeco Ryans.

The Texans Wire's Cole Thompson asked Lassiter about similarities between the standards set forth by Ryans and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, alluding to the Texans coach's playing career at Alabama, where he was a unanimous All-American and the SEC Defensive Player of the Year before going on to earn Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in Houston.
