The Texans started Julién Davenport at left tackle against the Cowboys on Saturday with Roderick Johnson replacing him after a few series.
Davenport allowed quarterback Deshaun Watson to get sacked, caused a fumble. Another sack allowed by Davenport was nullified by a penalty.
Davenport struggled as the starter last season as he was prone to allowing sacks for an offense that led the NFL with 62 sacks surrendered. He was also prone to penalties.
Texans coach Bill O'Brien has reiterated multiple times that oft-injured former Pro Bowl selection Matt Kalil is his starting left tackle.
