The Dallas Police Department is taking a domestic violence case against Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel to a grand jury to decide whether he should be charged.
Police released a statement Thursday saying its investigation into a Jan. 30 incident between Manziel and his ex-girlfriend was completed. A Class A misdemeanor assault/domestic violence case has been referred to the Dallas County District Attorney's office for presentation to the grand jury.
The statement said no details from the investigation would be released pending the grand jury presentation.
Colleen Crowley, Manziel's ex-girlfriend, said the Texas A&M Heisman Trophy winner hit her several times, including a blow to her left ear that caused her to temporarily lose hearing.
