Regardless of what unfolds during the upcoming NFL draft, the Houston Texans organization has reason to celebrate this week.
Wide receiver John Metchie III—who was drafted in the second round last year out of Alabama—has returned to the practice field after missing his rookie season while dealing with a rare form of cancer. Metchie was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia last summer, though positive developments regarding his recovery have surfaced throughout 2023.
The latest of these came this week, with the Texans releasing photos of Metchie back at work on the practice field.
