Quarterback C.J. Stroud and his collection of pricey pass catchers drew a majority of headlines this summer. A different offensive player stole the show in Week 1.
Houston Texans running back Joe Mixon earned AFC Player of the Week honors Wednesday for his effort in Sunday's 29-27 win at the Indianapolis Colts. Mixon, who joined Houston via a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals in March, tallied 159 rushing yards in 30 carries, adding a touchdown. The 2021 Pro Bowl selection saved some of his best running for the game's final quarter, bruising his way to 40 yards, including a game-sealing nine-yard rush with less than two minutes remaining.
